What are Educational Games?

Educational games emphasize learning by using: rules, competition, active engagement, and providing immediate rewards once the training goals are achieved. Students may participate in games as individuals or as members of a team.
Why is it Relevant?
Games introduce fun and excitement into the learning environment, thus helping adult learners to stay actively engaged and interested in a subject. Students learn through the process of playing games. Games can encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and collaboration among members. For many students, learning is directly proportional to the amount of fun they have. Games can be an excellent way to engage adult learners and keep them motivated.
